In general, an act which provides funds for a previously enacted law. More specifically, an act that establishes or continues one or more Federal agencies or programs, establishes the terms and conditions for operation, authorizes appropriations or funding, and specifies how appropriated funds are to be used. An Authorizations Act sometimes provides permanent appropriations.
