Comfort Rulings
A term to know.
The Service will not issue a letter ruling with respect to an issue that is clearly and adequately addressed by a statute, regulation, or court decision; or revenue rulings, revenue procedures, notices, or other authorities published in the Internal Revenue Bulletin. There are exceptions to this general rule for certain covered transactions and corporation reorganizations.
