tenancy by the entirety
A term to know.
A joint tenancy between husband and wife, where the two collectively possess property as a single entity, and upon the death of the first to die, the survivor takes the entire property. Such a tenancy cannot be broken by the unilateral action of one spouse, and only a joint creditor of both spouses has the right to make an absolute claim on property held in this manner.
